This Excellent. Thanks for sharing…
You arwe very welcome! 🙂
I have been inserting images into my projects but the quality never looks good enough. I use Adobe Illustrator to create artwork & then print to PDF. These are then used for other purposes. I then crop the area I need for the decal & save it to JPG before adding it to my project.
Is there a better way to create an image so the quality is better?
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your message. I know exactly what you mean. I personally save my Illustrator files as a DWG file. And I use this DWG file to import in SolidWorks. This way you have 2D sketch lines instead of a lowres JPG image.
Just go to File > Export DWG in Illustrator to save your Illustrator file as a DWG. Now open a SolidWorks Part and go to Insert > DXF / DWG to import your DWG into SolidWorks.
I only recommend JPG images for aesthetic purposes or for hand sketch blueprints.
Hope this helps!
Jan
